10 Things to Add to Your Summer Bucket List
Summer is right around the corner (YAY!), and so it's time to start putting together our Summer Bucket Lists (YAAAAAYYY!)!

Summer is about having fun, enjoying life, having an adventure or two, and spending time with the people you love! If you don't make a summer bucket list, you might spend the entire summer sitting in front of the tv, being bored!

So get your pen and notebook out, read this post, read my post "12 Ways to not be Bored this Summer", dream a little, and then start drafting up your Summer Bucket List!

(And if you're wondering about the numbers on some of the pictures, it's because they are from my "Things I Want to do Before I Die" List, and these are all pictures of me crossing numbered items off that list! The ones that don't have numbers, were from my "And Things I Did Anyways List." Things that weren't on my Bucket List, but that I did anyways, and loved!)

Ten Things to Add to Your Summer Bucket List!
1. Go to a Drive-In Movie.
There is nothing quite as romantic, and perfectly summer, as going to a drive in with your partner (or best friends!).
It brings a feeling of nostalgia and wonder! This is a summer must-do!

Ten Things to Add to Your Summer Bucket List!
2. See an outdoor concert.
Any outdoor concert is fine, but I would recommend a band that brings to you the feeling of summer. For me, it was The Beach Boys. The Beach Boys to me, are the ultimate feel-good, summer time, band, that brings back feelings of childhood!

Ten Things to Add to Your Summer Bucket List!
3. Kiss in the Rain.
If you haven't done this before, definitely add it to your summer bucket list!

4. Ride a Bicycle Built for Two!
Also called a tandem bicycle, this thing is not nearly as scary as it looks! The first half hour or so of trial and error, are totally worth the feeling of flying through the streets of downtown with your best friend!

Ten Things to Add to Your Summer Bucket List!
5. Ride a Horse.
Riding a horse is one of the most freeing feelings you can ever experience!

Ten Things to Add to Your Summer Bucket List!
6. Have a Picnic on the Beach.
This is a picture from one of the greatest days of my life. It was in Waihai, China, and it was spent exploring the beach, laying in the grass and watching the clouds, being interviewed for the Chinese News, and just basking in friendship and wonder.
Having a picnic on the beach was the best way to top it all off! To make it even better, get food to go from your favorite restaurant and eat that!

Ten Things to Add to Your Summer Bucket List!
7. Go Wakeboarding.
I got to go wakeboarding in Singapore, with an electronic line that pulled us around the lake!
If you can't make it to Singapore, go out on a lake with a friend that has a boat, and try this fun way to spend a summer afternoon!

Ten Things to Add to Your Summer Bucket List!
8. Be Silly with Your Friends.
That's what summer's for after all! To have fun and be silly with your friends!
Ten Things to Add to Your Summer Bucket List!
9. Go White Water Rafting.
If you love adventure, and just a little bit of danger, white water rafting is perfect for you!

Ten Things to Add to Your Summer Bucket List!
10. Help People.
There's nothing quite like the feeling of helping someone in need! It will make you feel better if you're feeling down, and you can change someone's life! Why not use this summer to help make a difference?!

World Changing Wednesdays; Eden

On today's World Changing Wednesday post, I want to share about an organization that I hold very dear to my heart, as it is located in Asia, which owns a piece of my heart, and I got to visit this organization when I lived in Asia; Eden Ministries.

Eden began in a very simple way: two housewives with only one evening a week to spare had a desire to do something about human trafficking in their city. They began to prayer-walk around the red light areas and build relationships with all those involved in the sex industry. The vision was to bring God’s love to everyone involved in the sex industry and to see them set free. Twelve years later, they have created multiple shelters in major trafficking hubs in Asia, established an international jewelry business and witnessed thousands of people from the sex industry be impacted with God’s love.

Watch this video. I promise you will cry.

When I was living in China, I actually got to meet one of the founders of this beautiful organization! I was able to go to one of their offices, and meet some of the girls while they were making the jewelry! I also got to purchase some of their lovely jewelry.

Eden is not a charity; taking donations from people then handing them out to the girls. No, Eden uses their international jewelry business as a platform. They provide career and skill training- empowering women for a new life and future. They continually innovate prevention and outreach programs- transforming entire communities. Eden is a voice to the oppressed, a light to the darkness. They restore freedom for the captives of Asia’s red light districts through holistic programs- transforming body, mind and spirit. There's no hand-outs or donations! Every time you shop at Eden, you are helping pay these girls' wages, as jewelry makers!

Most of these girls have been either forced, or tricked into it prostitution. Some even sold into slavery by their own family! With every purchase you make, you get a card with one of these girls' real-life stories on it. Eden's website also has some of their stories that you can read here.

After learning about this company and all they do, you might now be asking yourself, "How can I help? What can I do?!!"

1. Shop!
I loooove buying products from Eden! Not only is every piece absolutely gorgeous, but I know that my money is changing lives! Shopping at Eden is a true win-win!
I buy from Eden every chance I get; Birthdays, Christmas, even my bridesmaids gifts for my wedding are from Eden!
Next time you need a gift for any occasion, go to Eden!
Shop here.

2. Host a Party
Hosting an Eden Party is kind of like a Mary Kay, or Tupperware Party!
When you host an Eden Evening in your home or church, your efforts truly make a difference in the lives of the women at Eden. Proceeds from your jewelry sales go directly back to pay for safe shelter, fair wages, counseling, and vocational training for the rescued women employed in Eden's workshop.
Eden will send you everything you need to host a fun and meaningful event, including:
  • Eden Brochures
  • Eden Jewelry Catalogs & Order Forms
  • 5-minute Eden DVD
  • Eden Jewelry!
All you need to do is gather some friends & have a great time!
Me and my mom are planning on doing this sometime after I'm married.
Go here and fill out the form at the bottom to get started!

Thank you so much for reading this! I hope it has offered a little inspiration, and a little something to think about on your Wednesday.

3. Be an Advocate
I am hopefully going to be starting doing this soon!
Eden says this about becoming an advocate;
"Would you like to become more involved and speak up on behalf of the women that Eden Ministry serves in Asia?
Become an Eden Advocate. Share stories on behalf of the ministry and the women we minister to, sell the jewelry that has been made by the women who left prostitution, and earn 20% commission on all your sales as a thank-you for partnering with us to rescue and empower exploited women.
Find venues and events in your community to share about Eden, select the jewelry that will sell well in your community we will send it to you.  We help set you up with the jewelry and promotion materials."

If this sounds like something you might like, go here and fill out the form at the bottom of the page to get more information on becoming an advocate!

By the time I'm 35...

China Barbie. By the Time I'm 35...
Well, today is my Birthday!
Sitting here thinking about that, I have discovered that the age of 30 is coming around the corner (a lot faster than I want it to!). So I started taking stock of my life, and figuring out what I wanted to have accomplished before I turn the big 3-0. Then I realized that most of the goals I want to accomplish would be more realistic to do before I'm 35.
So!
I made a comprehensive list of all the things I want to accomplish between now, and my 35th birthday; my 7 year plan if you will!
And before you say anything, yes I know that these are all extremely ambitious things to accomplish in the next couple years (or even in general), but I'm aiming for what I want, and I won't stop until I do it!

So here is my "By the Time I'm 35" List!

1. Retire with $3,000 monthly cash-flow.
2. Move out of Ohio.
3. Get married.
4. Travel to 17 countries (I'm at 14 right now).
5. Get 100,000 views a day on this blog.

6. Own at least two rental properties or businesses.

I will keep you updated on these goals as the years progress, but I am VERY excited about the future!!!

*How about YOU?! What would you like to accomplish before you're 30? Before you're 20? Before you're 50? Before you die? Start your own list today! Then hang it up where you can see it! Then go DO it! Leave a comment telling your list! *

Peace Love and 35

A Hammer's Story...

A Hammer's Story...
Good day to all of you!
Today, I have a story to tell you! A fun, and magical story!
But it will not be told by me, no, it will come to you in the wonderful words of Randy Fath.

Randy Fath, is one of the coolest people I have ever met! I know him because we both go to the same church. He is owner and operator of his own photography company (he takes really cool pictures!), and he is one of the nicest, sincerest, and most caring human beings you will ever meet! When we didn't have a lot of money for my little sister's Senior Pictures, Randy offered his services for absolutely free! We spent a whole day in the studio with him, he took over a thousand pictures, and gave us a cd with all the pictures, and all the rights to them!
Randy is also one of those guys that always has a story to tell, and he should! He's traveled all around the world, been a part of various organizations, and has got to see so much, experience a lot, and get to know so many people!

Picture
So anyways! The other day he gives me a hammer. And with this hammer, a sheet of paper on which he has written this hammer's story. So listen if you will, to The Hammer's Story...

Picture
"On September 12, 1988 Hurricane Gilbert struck the island of Jamaica and until that time it was the strongest hurricane ever to have been recorded in Atlantic history.Over the next months relief and construction workers arrived primarily from the US, England, and Germany.
In January of 1989, Randy Fath from the United States and Fergus Colloff from Tonbridge, Kent UK found themselves working on several of the same reconstruction projects. They became friends (Randy had a broad range of construction experience from growing up in his family business, and Fergus was from a professional family but developed an interest in traditional and fine woodworking and then went to university to obtain his degree in the field).
Late in the month of January, Randy and Fergus were working on the roof of the New Testament Church of God in Cascade Jamaica, and after some joyful conversations decided to exchange hammers, as each was interested in the others. Randy had a grid-faced rip claw framing hammer, and Fergus had the hammer he had just completed the home of his fellow countryman and singer, Paul McCartney.
Paul McCartney of the famed Beatles group.
Fergus Colloff and Randy did continue their friendship as Fergus returned to Jamaica the following year and taught in the new vocational school that was founded by Randy Fath through the United Church of Jamaica and the Grand Cayman Islands."
Picture
WOW!!!
If you've followed this blog at all before, then you know how crazy I am about the Beatles!!!

I could not believe that I held this hammer in my hand! So, I took a nice little photo-shoot with it (as you can tell!), and when I took it back to church the following Sunday to give it back to him, he told me that it was an early wedding present, and that I could keep it!!!

I am so excited, and so happy about this! This is gonna be a pretty difficult wedding gift to beat!!!

So thus concludes The Hammer's Story!

So! I just wanted to send a public thank you to Randy Fath, for this wonderful gift, and this intriguing story that I got to share with all of you!!!
If you liked it, remember to pin it, and like it on facebook! Thanks!

Peace Love and The Paul McCartney Hammer
