My Fairy Tale Picnic at a Waterfall. By China Barbie.
Last week, me and the love of my life hiked to a waterfall, and had a romantic picnic on a rock eight feet off the ground, that was jutting out over the waterfall. It was magical. I felt like I was in a romantic movie (except the guy I was with was waaay cuter :p )! Since words can't even do justice to how beautiful and amazing it was, here's some pictures...

D.I.Y Life Memories Bulletin Board

DIY Life Memories Bulletin Board
I am in the process of writing a How-to Decorate your room guide. So before I finished that, I wanted to write a post about how to make my FAVORITE decoration I have in my room. My very own Memories Board!

What You Will Need:

*A cork board.

You can get one at any office supplies store, dollar store, or thrift store ( I got mine at a garage sale!). Any size, but the bigger the better. Mine is half the size of me!

*Fabric scraps.

Any color or pattern. Mine is just some scraps from clothes I was making.

*Thumbtacks.

Lots of them!

*Life Memories.
This can be anything. I have pictures of my adventures, pictures of the important people in my life, wristbands from concerts, notes and drawings from people I love, jewelry, pins, souvenirs from places I've been, and any other momentos that remind me what a great life I have!

What to do:

*Put the fabric on your board.
Lay your cork board flat out on the ground. Arrange all your different fabric scraps on it, so that none of the cork shows thru. Use thumbtacks to keep them in place.

Now for the fun part!
*Arrange your life memories on the board.

With the cork board still flat on the ground, gather together all your pictures and objects, and rearrange them however you want on the board! Use thumbtacks to keep these in place also.

Not only is this a great addition to any room, but it's a great everyday reminder of how thankful you should be for your life! Every couple of months switch it up, and add new things to it.

And that's it! Super simple! Now either hang your board up, or lean it up against something to show it off!

Handmade T-shirt Pillows

9/20/2012

Picture
Recently, I had the tattoo shop/art gallery Artistic Alley buy a couple of my t-shirt pillows off of me. They also gave me some of their Studio What t-shirts for me to make pillows out of, and they are now for sale at the shop!
Artistic Alley is a newly opened Tattoo Shop in Berlin, Ohio. They also have an art gallery inside featuring work of all local artists! I think it's really cool seeing something like that around!
Along with my t-shirt pillows, they also have some of Magdalena's, SJ's, and my friend Derek's artwork in there.

Here's some of our items you can find there.

Derek's Pottery (how freaking talented is this guy?!!) Derek Bunker Pottery and here.

So if you're in the area, come on out and support local art! If you're not, come on out anyways! Berlin is in Amish Country Ohio, which is the largest settlement of Amish in the world! So if you're planning a vacation, Amish Country Ohio is a great place to come to!
Also find Artisitc Alley on
facebook and share the love!

Inside being an actor at the world's longest haunted house
I love fall. LOVE! Wanna know why? Well, for starters, last night I went to the midnight release for Borderlands2 (my first ever midnight release for a video game! Haha) with my boyfriend. I wore my leopard printed tights, combat boots, and a hoody! Yessss...loooove my fall clothes! :D And the boyfriend bought me a pumpkin spice latte!!! Mmmmm...yes, I am a very happy camper right now... But one of the biggest reasons that I adore the fall, is that I work at a Haunted House! And not just any haunted house, I am a supervisor at the Guiness book of world records longest haunted house in the world! The Factory of Terror in Canton, Ohio. Checkk it outttt....

Last year was my first year working at the factory, and I was an actor in the Massacre on Mahoning house. This year I have been promoted to a breaker/supervisor in M.O.M, and I am SO stoked about it! I absolutely looooove working there. It is one of the things in my life that I love, and that I am super proud of! I love having every fall to look forward to (and not just because of the clothes and pumpkin spice lattes! :p).
As you can see in the videos, it's a GREAT time, and totally worth going! Opening night is in 4 days! That's right, September 22nd come on out for the first night of the season!  Go to F.O.T's
website or facebook, check out our dates and prices, come on out and see meeee, and start off the Fall season right! :P

Here's an actor interview video from last year. You can see me for a little bit at 5:28.

24 Hour Detox Day

9/14/2012

Last week I went to the library and got the book "Cleanse Purify Energize" by Charmaine Yabsley. (Btw, this book is incredible, and I recommend reading it). In this book, they have plans for a 24 hour detox, a 3 day liver detox, a 3 day detox, and a smoker's detox. After reading it, I decided that I needed to do a 24 hour detox. And O.M.G...the day after I felt sooo amazing! I think I'm going to start doing this about two times a month! It is sooo good for you to periodically clear out the toxins that your body has aquired from everyday living. So clear out a day that you can be completely relaxed and focus on yourself, and follow this schedule from the book "Cleanse Purify Energize". Your body will thank you :)

Your Detox Day
7:22 a.m
This is the perfect physical time to wake up-researchers atht the University of Westminister,
London, have found that people who rise between 5:22 and 7:21am have higher levels of the stress hormone cortisol in their bloodstream. So set your alarm for 7:22 am safe in the knowledge that you'll be well rested.

7:30
Drink a glass of room temperature water. This will replace fluids lost during the night, and it will help your kidneys to function at optimum level

7:34
Get your detoxification started with a massage. Mix 1 tsp almond oil with olive oil and 10 drops of peppermint oil. Apply to your stomach in a clockwise direction untily your hand is above your leg. Then stroke down along your thigh. This aids digestion and relieves
blockages.

8:00
Don't get out of bed straightaway; stretch your body from head to toe for a gentle wake up. Now it's time to get up. Head to the bathroom. Take a dry body brush and use it in sweeping movements from your toes all the way to your shoulders. Always brush towards your heart, as this will help boost circulation, and,in turn, banish dry skin and cellulite. Set
the water to lukewarm-not too hot, nor too cold-wash your hair and use an envigorating
body scrub all over. Towel dry and apply your favorite scented moisturizer, all over.

8:30
Time for breakfast. Try this great juice, it will fill you up and get your digestive system started.

 Sun Up Smoothie
1 apple
1 pear
1 carrot
1/2
beet
1 banana
oranic muesli
Juice the first four ingredients together, then pour the mixture into a blender. In the blender, add some ice one banana, and a handful of organic muesli. Blend until smooth. Drink immediately. Take a milk thistle supplement as a part of today's detox program.

9:00
Put on your comfy workout gear and head to the local park for a brisk hour's walk. While walking doesn't burn as many calories as running, research has shown that it has just as many (if not more) health and emotional benefits. Walking can help lift depression, encourage creativity (also known as walking meditation), and tone the butt, stomach,
and thighs.

10:30
Today is all about cleansing, so try some suitable recipes. The following ingredients are renowned for their detoxifying properties, plus you'll feel nice and full, so you won't think you're depriving yourself.

Detox Day Drink
1/4 inch ginger root
1 stick
celery
1 carrot
1apple
1 pear
Juice all ingredients together. Store in refrigerator to cool, or add ice if required.

11:00
Time to do nothing. Today is all about you, so make some time for yourself to do ab-so-lute-ly nothing.

12 noon
If your energy levels are flagging, it's a great time to enjoy some natural fruit sugars with this lip smackin' smoothie

Banana Smoothie
Ideal for any time of the day, this juice is packed full of vitamin B and natural sugars. It will give you a feeling of well being, whatever time you drink it.

1 banana
1 tsp honey
shaved nutmeg
1 1/4 cups
almond, or rice milk
Put all the ingredients into a blender and mix until the banana is completely broken down. Pour in a glass and add more nutmeg to taste.

1:00 p.m
It's been a busy day, so it's time for your nap. Just an hour's sleep during the day can be highly beneficial for your health. According to research, it can make you thinner, happier, less stressed, and lower your blood pressure. This is the tme of day that the pineal gland
releases a small amount of sleep-inducing hormone melatonin, which causes
lethargy. So head to your bedroom, throw a comfy blanket over you, and head off to the
land of nod. Don't forget to set your alarm first, otherwise you might sleep your day away!

2:00
Time to wake up your brain and body. Drink a glass of water before rising. Then, head back to your local park for a yoga workout, or if you'd rather not salute the sun in public, to your living room. Put a yoga instructional DVD on and follow the program for a top-to-toe easy
wake up routine (Here's the one I used, I loooove it).

3:00 pm
Filler Up Recipe
4 oranges
handful of acai berries, blueberries,
raspberries, and strawberries combined
Juice oranges and add to the blender. Add the berries and blend until smooth. Pour over ice in a tall glass and sip slowly.

3:30 pm
It's pampering hour. Apply a face mask and use this relaxing time to give yourself a manicure and pedicure. Or lie down with some of your favorite magazines or a book and let the mask do its work.

4:30
You've done really well and hopefully you're feeling the positive effects of your detox day. Time for a warming drink. Place fresh mint leaves into a teapot and add boiling water. Leave for a few minutes, then pour a cup of refreshing, cleansing, mint tea.

5:30 pm
Wash off your face mask, then run yourself a warm aromatic bath for further relaxation time.

Aromatic Bath
10 drops grapefruit essential oil
10 drops juniper essential oil
1 cup Epsom Salts
Mix the essential oils with the salts before pouring into a tub of warm water. Turn up the music, light some candles, and immerse yourself fully in the bath. Enjoy the warmth and aroma for at least 20 minutes before getting out and drying yourself from head to toe.
Apply some body moisturizer and put on some comfortable pajamas. If your hair is wet, dry it fully, but don't bother about styling it. Scatter a few drops of chammomile or lavender oil on your pillow and bedsheets and make yourself a cup of chamomile tea.

7:00 pm
Time to wind down from the day, so try to avoid any fruits as they contain high levels of natural sugars. An ideal end of day juice should involve vegetables with a deeper, earthy
flavor.

On the Beet
1 beet
1 carrot
1 pear
1 stick of celery
Juice ingredients together.

9:00 pm
It's early, but it's time to hop into bed. Listen to some music or read for about 20 minutes before turning off the light. Enjoy a restful night's sleep and look forward to a new, revitalized you tomorrow morning.

I have to admit, I did not go to bed at 9:00(!) haha. But still, the next morning, I looked, and felt soo much better. I know that it takes more than just 24 hours to get your body back in shape, but It just goes to show, that if you treat your body right, it's gonna treat you right!
Also, the 24 hour detox helped me discover yoga! Since doing the yoga session during the detox, I have fallen in love with it! The practice of yoga is SO perfect for me! It's not like every other exercise that I got bored doing after ten minutes, and it makes me feel so strong, and so good, and so powerful!
Also, the smoothie/juice recipes in here are good to drink every day! Even drinking one a day has soo many health benefits.

Peace Love and Detoxing

4th Month!

( Look at how happy I am with my blog! :p )
Today marks the completion of the 4th month of My Peace Love Life! It's kind of strange, because it seems like it has been waaaaay longer than 4 months!
The first month of the site had just a little over 1,000 views. Not too bad for the first month a blog starts! The second month had a little over 1,800. Third month, over 1,900. I have to admit, that I wasn't super happy that those first three months were nowhere close to my 10,000 views a month goal that I made for myself. But, I am happy, that every month I have got more views than the month before. So as long as I am steadily progressing, I'm happy! So I'm super stoked to say that this month, we were just 36 short of 2,500 page views!
In two months, my site will be six months old! And right now I am setting a goal to have 5,ooo pageviews on the sixth month. I appreciate all you guys so much, it means soo much to me to have your support, and to know that you are reading what I'm saying! :) So if I could just continue to have your support, and attention, in helping me reach this goal, I would be sooo grateful! So pass this site along to a friend, and just keep enjoying! Thank you guys so much, you are THE BEST :D

Peace Love and YOU GUYS!

My First Ever Chinese Night!

9/11/2012

Chinese Night
Last night, I hosted my first ever Chinese Night, and it was a HUGE success!
I started planning this night after I hung out with my friend Susanna who had just come back from China. We both are completely obsessed with China, and spent the whole time drinking coffee, and talking about how much we love China, and how much we miss it, and most of all, how much we miss the food!
So when I went on my family vacation to Cleveland, and we went to the Asian Market, I bought enough food to make a complete Chinese meal for Chinese night!

First I decorated the kitchen all up in China stuff.
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
Picture
I had my laptop with a slideshow of my China pictures, along with Chinese music playing the whole time.
Picture
Then for supper, I made 火锅 (hot pot), one of my favorite meals while I was in China.
Hot Pot is a Chinese meal, where the food is all served in one pot. When you go to a hot pot restaurant, every table has a hole in the middle, with a stove, so when you sit down, your waitress brings you over a pot filled with water and spices and oils all mixed together. You then set the pot in the hole and turn on the stove! Once the "soup" is boiling, put in all the food that you ordered; beef, vegetables, tofu, noodles, coagulated blood (my favorite...not!), cow stomach (my actual favorite!) and whatever else you want!

After eating our meal, I made 珍珠奶茶 (pearl milk tea), and we played 麻将 (majiang) I loooove this game. Here's me playing it on a boat on the Yellow River in China.

So we all had suuuuch an excellent night! But definitely made me miss China!
Now why don't you go out and have yourself a Chinese night. Or Indian, Japanese, Italian, whatever catches your fancy!

Vacation to Clevleand, Ohio!

Cleveland Ohio Vacation
This year for our family vacation, me and my family went to Cleveland Ohio. Even though it's only about a two hour drive from my house, it feels like a different world! We're used to being in the middle of no-where, with small towns where everybody knows everybody, and no tall buildings in sight! I am a country girl at heart; was born and raised in the country, but, I looove big cities. I think it was China that did that for me. So getting away for a couple days and spending it in Cleveland was veeery exciting for me. I went with my mom, dad, sister, brothers, my brother's girlfriend, and my boyfriend. We are one of those lucky few families that actually gets along really great with each other, so we all had SUCH an amazing time.

Picture

The whole crew at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! I think this was one of my favoritest parts of the whole trip. My family is crazy huge into music; it's just such an important part of our lives, and is something that draws us closer together. So getting to be together and see clothing and instruments that were worn and played by our musical idols up close! Wow. Was such an incredible experience for me that I can't even put into words. I know that me and my sister got a little teary eyed, seeing on big screens Elvis (for me) and Jim Morrison (for her) performing and talking. It was just a really amazing experience that I know I will treasure forever.

We also went the the East end's Asian Market, which made me EXTREMELY happy (and miss China very much). I was in Heaven! I spent over $30 dollars there, buying ingredients for 火锅(Hot Pot), one of my favorite Chinese foods, 珍珠奶茶 (pearl milk tea), and lots of other goodies!
Picture
We spent the rest of our time walking around downtown, taking TONS of pictures, feeding pigeons, watching the airshow, and we also got to visit the Horseshoe Casino which was sooo incredible! We will definitely be planning a day trip there to gamble more money! Here's more pictures of us on our trip!

Isn't it just fantastic! So that was (just some) of my pictures! And consider Cleveland, Ohio for your next family vacation!
