Inspiration: Living Your Life

Setting Goals after Graduating
Picture
Today, my baby sister graduated from hi skool. Amongst all the craziness it got me to thinking...
I know you'll probably think I'm crazy, but I love graduation ceremonies. I always end upp crying (today it was outdoors, so I just wore my shades the
whole time so no one could see me crying haha), and I loove the speeches. You know the ones, where you are told that this is the first day of the rest of your life, and that the decisions you make today, will determine how the rest of your life will turn out, and all of them always include at least one Dr. Seuss quote! Although these speeches are usually repetetive and predictable, I still love them, because they are SO true!

Picture
(and just for funn, here's one of my Senior pictures from waaay back in the day)>>>

Think about it this way, hi skool can be fun! But, it's only 4 years of your life! After you leave there, you have literally your entire life ahead of you to live! And I think that's a lot better than being in hiskool! Sure, in hiskool you dont have all the responsiblities you do once your out in the "real world", but once you have entered the "real world", you can do anything you want! Literally, anything in the world! And that thought gets me soo excited! The entire world open to you! So that's what I want to talk to you about today. I want to ask you a couple questions!

What have you done since you graduated hiskool? What did you imagine your life turning out to be like? Is it anything like you imagined? If not, is it headed in that direction? What direction is it headed in? What direction would you like it to be going in?! So many questions! Well, I think today is a good time to sit down and ponder this...because life is so busy, and if we never stop and take time to think about our lives and what we want, the next thing we know, were 50 and completely unhappy with our life! We need to take time RIGHT NOW to sit down, and think about this. Grab your journal, and sit alone with your thoughts for a while. Take as much time as you need, and carefully, thoughtfully, and honestly answer these questions (if you just graduated hiskool, or are still in skool, just answer questions 4-8) :
1. When I graduated from hiskool, what did I want my life to look like in 5 years?
2. Why did I want that life?
3. Do I still want that life?
4. What does my life look like now?
5. What do I want my life to look like 5 years from now?
6. Is my life headed in that direction?
7. If not, what steps can I take TODAY to get it headed in that direction? If it IS, what can I do to make sure it STAYS headed in that right direction?

So really take some time with this, meditate on it, write down your TRUE feelings, and let this help you start the life that you always wanted for yourself!

(one of my little sister's Senior Pictures)>>>

I am going to be taking time to do this also. I find that it's good to do this once a year, just to keep yourself on track, because it it sooo easy to get distracted by doing a bunch of little things that aren't helping you have the life you want. And those little things add up so quickly, taking time away from the important things. Example: You want to be in a band and get famous! Instead of using your time to practice and get amazing on the guitar, or going to local shows and making connections, you spend most of your time playing video games,  and drinking. Now, I'm not saying to stop doing those things completely! But, if you do have plans and dreams and goals for your life (which I hope you do, after answering the above questions!), you will need to start managing your time better, which means cutting down time spent on things that aren't doing you any good. Which leads to question number
8. What are some things that you can spend a little less time doing, or just cut out of your
life completely? This can include activities that waste your time and are not helping you
reach your goals in life, or activities that you don't really even enjoy that much, but just
do anyways (like if you've been hanging out with a friend that you realize you don't really
like that much, and they are always bringing you down, maybe it's time to consider
    cutting ties with that person).

Well lovelys, I hope you all take the time to answer these questions! If you do, I guarantee that this will help you get headed in the direction you want your life to go! Leave comments and let me know what you find out about yourself! I am very excited to hear about it!

 Peace Love and Graduation

2012 Asian Festival!

For those of you who missed the 2012 Cleveland Asian Festival, never fear! I was there, and I can fill you in on what you missed! The Asian Festival is a festival that is held every year in Cleveland, Ohio. It is held outdoors, by the Asian Restaurants and Market. My friend Matt and I went (we are both in love with China).
We got to see (and I got autographs and my picture taken with) the Dance Crew Instant Noodles, from Season 6 of Mtv's America's Best Dance Crew!
Picture
We ate some amazing Chinese food, I got to meet a bunch of Chinese people to talk to in Mandarin (which always makes me VERY happy!), and I got interviewed by 216tv. I'll post the interview when I get it.
They also had Karate demonstrations, dancing, sushi eating contest, and much more!

Here's me and Matt. He looks so stoked to be there! >

Hahaha. Love him!
Here's the website for Asian Festival, check it out for more information on it!

Welcome back dear readers! I just wanted to take some time out to say that I am SO delighted to be on this journey, and even more delighted that you are sharing in this journey with me! Please leave me comments, find me on facebook, message me, and let me know
how you are doing in your empowerment journey thus far! Let me know any questions you might have, or anything you would like for me to talk about on here, and let me know how you are enjoying the blog so far! I would love love love! to hear from each and every one of you! In this blog, I want to pour out my feelings, my hopes,
my dreams, my opinions, and any little bit of wisdom that I've picked up along the way. So in short, I want this to be very personal! Even though I'm young, I definitely believe that I do have things to teach to and share with people; I've traveled to 14 different countries, I survived and thrived living on my own in China for two years, I love to read, about any subject under the sun, and I have a passion and curiosity to learn and discover as much as I can about life!
So I do hope that you will find things in this blog to entertain/inspire/enlighten, and empower you!
Thank you again, so much, because without you, this would not be possible!
Until next time,

Leave me some Love Love Love!

    I'm Jessica!

I've traveled all over the world, but Ohio is where I call home. I'm a lifestyle & travel blogger, and author. I love setting goals, reading, and snuggling up with my fur babies. I can usually be found at my local thrift store, or in the hammock in my backyard.
