Vending at Abbey Road on the River 2014!

Right now I am SooOo0oo0 totally excited! In two days I will be driving (by myself!) to Louisville, Kentucky, to vend at The 10th Annual Louisville Kentucky Abbey Road on the River Festival. I wrote about this festival last summer here. This festival embodies everything that I am passionate about; Music, The Beatles, Peace, Love, John Lennon's Peace Movement, Outdoor festivals, Dancing, Hippies, and now...

...THE BEACH BOYS!!!
Yes, this year at AROTR, the Beach Boys are going to be playing!!!
I absolutely ADORE the Beach Boys; when I listen to them, I am taken back to the wonderful summer days of being a kid, jumping on the trampoline, dancing around, singing along to 'Good Vibrations'. To me, the Beach Boys are a piece of my childhood, and I would still name them as one of my favorite bands today.
So to me, just knowing that I am actually going to be vending at a festival where the Beach Boys are playing, is just completely MAGICAL!

This was my booth I had at last year's smaller, indoor, Cleveland AROTR. It was so much fun, and that event allowed me to gain access to vending at the bigger better outdoor AROTR!
I am extremely excited about this event, not only because I get to travel a bit and get out of Ohio, but this will be the biggest show I've ever done, and it will allow me to get My Peace Love Life products and name out there into the world! And that just completely thrills me!
I am also so happy to be getting a little 'me' time. I love traveling by myself, and having time to be with just me, and re-align myself to my needs, wants, and goals. I think that this trip will definitely help me do that.
So I will be taking off on Wednesday at about noon!

Wedding Dress Shopping!!!

Last Wednesday I went wedding dress shopping with my mom and little sister. It was at the Universe Bridal Store at Unusual Junction in West Lafayette, Ohio. Universe Bride is one of Ohio's largest Bridal Superstores, and Unusual Junction is this awesome old train depot! So to say the least, it's a pretty cool place to visit! So here are some wonderful pictures from the day!

To tell you the truth, I wasn't even that excited about this shopping trip, because I really wasn't expecting to be able to find a dress that I loved enough to buy. Before this, I had went to two other places and couldn't find anything that I loved. I found a lot that I liked, but none that I LOVED. I just didn't think the perfect dress existed! So this shopping trip was kind of a last resort.
So we got there and started sifting through the hundreds of dresses, trying them on as we went. Every dress I tried on though, seemed to be lacking something. After a couple hours of this I managed to find two dresses that I liked, but was just so overwhelmed from everything that I decided I needed a break. We decided to eat at Unusual Junction's 50's diner, but we were very disappointed to find out that it had already closed! So we told the dress lady that we were going to go find food and be back. We set out of the parking lot only to look directly across the street and see a winery!

Well! We of course had to eat (and drink) there!!!
Raven's Glenn Winery was a breathtakingly beautiful place with perfectly manicured lawns, a great view of the vineyard, and a beautiful lake running alongside it.
We were seated inside in the air conditioning with a view of the lake, but quickly asked if we could move outside to the deserted pavilion on the lake instead!
We moved outside, soaked up the sun, and feasted on fish, pastas, shrimp, bread, and wine. Oh don't forget the wine! We ordered a bottle of the Raven's Glenn Moon Dreams Sweet Red Wine. Not only was the wine made at Raven's Glenn, but the grapes were also grown there! To say the least, it was the best wine I've ever tasted!

After our relaxing afternoon lunch we went back to the dress shop. I tried on the one dress that I had liked; It was off-white, had lace, polka dot pattern, and was a little shorter in front so you can see my shoes. Everything that I wanted in a dress. But I just wasn't sure. So my sister tried on the other dress I liked and as soon as she walked out, I pointed at her and said, "I want that one!" I put that dress on, and was completely smitten.
The dress is not at all what I thought I was going to want; it's waaay more plain than what I usually go for, and the first dress seemed perfect, but just didn't look amazing, make me feel magical, or give me "The Feeling".
So to say the least, my day did not turn out at all like I was expecting it to, but those are sometimes the best days aren't they? And for me, this day, it turned out to be pretty magical! I now have my dress, I'm absolutely in love with it (I keep unzipping the bag and peeking at it!), and that's one giant thing I can cross off my wedding "To Do" list!

P.S. Sorry! You don't get to see the dress yet! I'm being extra careful so Nick won't see it. But don't worry, in one year three weeks and two days I'm getting married, and you'll get to see it after then! :P
