Morning Meditation

This morning I woke up at 9, did a half hour of yoga in my living room (I use Wai Lana's Yoga Dvd's), then went to the pond by our allotment.
I spread out a blanket on a picnic table, and sat there.
I was ushered back inside over an hour later when it started raining, but the hour I spent was perfect.

China Barbie Meditating
I sat outside this morning, because I needed clarity.
I needed to think.
I needed to meditate, search my soul, pray, and re-connect with myself, nature, and God.

Picture
I feel so strongly that if all people were to take time even once a month to sit down and meditate, pray, and connect with themselves and nature, that this world would be without a lot of its problems.
We as people would be happier, more centered, and fulfilling our dreams! We would treat nature and our fellow humans with more respect and kindness!
I strongly encourage each and every one of you to take an hour out of your day sometime this week!
What to do:

*Go somewhere quiet, calming, serene, and deserted.
*Bring with you notebooks, pens, and water (I brought along water and a healthy smoothie).
*Take deep calming breaths. Close your eyes. Stare at the water or another calming object. Do whatever it is you need to, to relax.
*Pray. Meditate. Look deep within yourself. Answer the questions that are always knocking at your heart, but you don't allow yourself to think about.
*Write down your feelings.
*Write down the answers to your questions (and you will get answers. If you ask, you shall receive. If you sit and meditate, they will come to you).
*Just Be!
Picture
And that's it! It might be difficult at first to be quiet without any tv, cell phone, music or friends to distract yourself with. But once you get settled, you'll find that you are quite great company! You just need to allow yourself to be quiet and not distracted long enough to get in touch with your inner self. Once you do that, the ideas, sense of self, and peace, will come.

Try it! Let me know what you think!

Countryside Lodging Bed and Breakfast

Countryside Lodging Bed and Breakfast
After our wedding, I was whisked away to Countryside Lodging's Victorian Suite! A super romantic, adorable getaway!

Picture
Upon arrival, we find this note and a plate of strawberries on the table, and a bottle of champagne in the fridge! How cool is that?!

Picture
Oh, and the bathroom!
I totally love bathrooms! Taking a luxurious bath is one of my favorite things, and I am completely obsessed with finding the perfect bathtub! And I finally found it!
I'm going to be honest, the bathroom was 95% of the reason why I booked this place!

Just look at it!

We couldn't have chosen a more perfect place to spend the first two nights of being a married couple!
It was situated in the middle of Amish Country, on a quiet back road, beside a serene pond.

It was absolutely wonderful!
The next day we walked around exploring downtown Millersburg.

Picture
We found vintage stores to wander around and cause shenanigans in, and we also got to see a movie being filmed!

He finally found a tiara big enough to fit his head! :D

Those two days were completely surreal. Knowing that all the planning and worrying about the wedding was over, was trumped only by the realization setting in that we were, actually, finally, husband and wife!

If you would like to check out Countryside Lodging (which I highly recommend!), their website has all the information you need!

My Wedding Video!

China Barbie's Wedding!
Well! We did it! Me and my love got married!!!
I'm not going to get into too much detail right now because I am exhausted, and I'd rather be spending time with my new husband for the time being! But, it was perfect!!!

I am super excited to tell you that my wedding video is ready, and here it is! If you couldn't attend the wedding, this will give you a taste of what it was like! Yaaaay!

Stunning!
The first time I watched it, I cried! Like not just a couple little tears in my eyes, but I really cried! Just ask Nick, he laughed at me! :P

So anyways, it could not have been any more perfect!!!

It not only captured small adorable details that made our wedding so unique and so us, but it shows all the important and cry-worthy parts of our day!

I will be getting the full video of the day in the mail shortly, and I'm so excited about it, but I am really just so smitten with this compilation video!

The person responsible for this- one part crazy artsy, and other part professional and beautiful- video, is Rachel Clevenger, from Captured Occasions.
I really don't even have to tell you how great she was (which she was!!!), because her work speaks for itself! She's super affordable, she is professional to the max (I barely even noticed her filming the entire day, she blended in so good!), and she has three different fantastic packages that you can choose from!

You can find more samples of her work on her website.

Check out all her packages here, and find the forms you need to fill out here!
(Pssst! You can also find her on facebook!)

While I was engaged I read (what felt like) every book, and blog article ever written about planning a wedding! In the midst of all that reading, I found that one of the biggest regrets of brides was not hiring a videographer! I originally was not going to hire a videographer, but after finding out how many brides regretted not doing it, I went for it! And I have to say that it was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding! I know now that I definitely would have regretted not doing it for sure!
So if you're getting married, I would definitely look into hiring a videoographer!

    I'm Jessica!

I've traveled all over the world, but Ohio is where I call home. I'm a lifestyle & travel blogger, and author. I love setting goals, reading, and snuggling up with my fur babies. I can usually be found at my local thrift store, or in the hammock in my backyard.
